Longfield

Longfield offers free counselling for anyone over the age of 18 with a progressive life limiting condition such as cancer, heart disease, neurological diseases (including Parkinson’s, MND, MS. Also, early to mid-stage dementia, depending on support needs) and advanced lung disease, who live in Gloucestershire or have a GP registered in Gloucestershire.

They are there from diagnosis onwards, helping people understand their illness, to better cope with its impact on their lives and gain skills and tools to enable them to live well. They offer Wellbeing services and a Hospice at Home service, although the main clinical care would remain with relevant NHS teams as we work in parallel with these services to support a patient’s health and wellbeing.

Referrals for their Wellbeing Centre, counselling and family and carer support can be made by the patient, a family member, or a health care professional as long as they have consent to do so. All you need to do is ring 01453 733706 or email: [email protected]

Alternatively, patients, carers and family members can pop into our drop-in sessions on a Friday morning between 10am – 12pm. No appointment is needed. Find out more: Longfield Hospice – Community Hospice Care: Home
